Moray and the Salt Pools, Certainly one of the most recommended mountain biking tours in Peru, considered by guidebooks, experienced riders and visitors. This Cross country and downhill trip is a mix of all terrain trails with amazing landscapes and the best cultural experience.

The route starts 30 km North of Cusco over the sacred valley at high plain of Chinchero 3700 m, a tipical andean Village surrounded by the snow capped mountains of Urubamba range, then it continues crossing high plain and the surrounding of Huaypo lake, towards the Incan Agricultural laboratory of Moray with its circular and concentrical terraces.

The route continues to the ancient colonial village of Maras, from this point the descend starts to Maras Salt Pools dating back to the Incas time but still in use today, finally the route continue descending to the bottom of the sacred Valley of the Incas at Pichingoto village located at 2800 m,o,s,l . this route is recommended for all skill rider, and it takes the entire day.

Yuncaypata Freeride


Probably the most popular location between local cyclists for the practice of Cross country, Freeride and Downhill styles, this is a dream ride area located 25 min nort of Cusco, full of single tracks labyrinth, ancient Inca trails, dirty roads, rock gardens, serious drop-offs, all size ramps and more than 20 diferent routes for all mtb skill rider and styles.
Over the years many biking competitions had been made in this area.
Routes start at Corao pass or at entrance of Yuncaypata village, once there make sure that you will stop and take your time to visit village an andean farmers comunity, as well as the diferent Inca remains along the way down as Pumawasi, Rumiwasi, Pumamarka etc. 
Enjoy full contact with Natural enviroments, a place not to be missed, really close to the city, about 25 min drive north direction.
. If you have a free morning or afternoon this is the perfect option for a quick ride.

Urubamba and The Santisimo Downhill.

A Downhill routes area full of fun and adrenaline, Located 40 km norwest of Cusco near to Urubama village, Surrounded by the spectacular Andean landscape of mountain and Its Huge snowpeaks With Sacred valley and  Vilcanota river in the bottom.
Among the several routes to be found here, there is the Santisimo downhill race course a well known and renowned  downhill race in peru. as well as different lines equally fast, challenging and fun.

the course is very fast and technical descend of 900 mtrs and  10 km long, it start at Raqchi at 3700m and descend Until the Urubamba village 2800m at bottom of the valley.
the first part of route is a 5 km long smooth and wide singletrack descend through agricultural fields,  pedaling sections and impressive landscape spots.
Second part of the famous Santisimo downhill course, a fast 5km ride, a technical and challenging singletrack with a pronounced slope and gradient ramps all zise, ​​verticals, drops, fast turns The Terrain is arid and mostly  dry With Some curves With loose soil and a couple of big ramps at the end of the course.
Physically demanding recommended just for average and experienced riders Because risk and difficulty.

Downhill Malaga Pass - Megavalanche Cup Course.

Located at north of City, near to Ollantaytambo village, this is probably the best Downhill race course in Cusco, this route was chosen for  celebrate one of the most famous downhill competition in the world as a part of the Avalanche cup since 2004 to 2008.

Usually know as Megavalanche , without doubt this is a challenging course, it starts at 4350 mtrs/ 14,271 ft.  at Mallaga Pass, surrounded  by snow capped peaks as Veronica  and Helancoma into an espectacular andean landscape, the descend full of adrenaline runs down trough native andean forest to the deeps of the sacred valley of the Incas at Taqcaq village at 2800 mtrs/9186 ft. 

Full of technical sections and many obstacles as narrow singletracks, springs, rock, drops, mud, natural jumps, etc. 
it takes about 25- 35 for most experience riders  and 1 hours for average rider, to cover the 24 km and reach the bottom of valley
 
This mountain bike trip is recommend for those who love downhill and are experienced riders because challenge, technical sections and risk.


 

The Lares Valley and the Hot Springs

This epic ride descend from the andes to Lares valley, usually the trip takes two days in which you can enjoy one of the best relaxing and spectacular adventures in Cusco.

The first day the trip begin at Cusco city, early in the morning  we travel north direction about 2 hours 30 min. through the Sacred valley of the Inkas until  reach  the Amparaes pass located over 4580 m.a.s.l / 15.026 ft, where  begins  the first section of the biking trip with a long downhill by a single track until Pampa  Corral an ancient Inca Village along the way down, then the descend continues through a gentle downhill by dirty road until reach Lares Village located over 3200 m.a.s.l / 10,498 ft..About 40 km biking by remote Andean scenary, spectacular waterfalls  and picturesque villages, during the afternoon you can enjoy the revitalizing hot springs,  and  stay the night at lares Village or camping next to hot springs.

The second day  we return to Amparaes pass for the second section of downhill that’s is one of the best routes in Cusco descending through a mix of single tracks, rock gardens  and ancient trails towards the village of Totora and then continue by a dirty road to Calca village on the sacred Valley at an altitude of 2,900 m.a.s. /l 9,533 ft. and 35 km biking.

This trip is recommended for average riders.


El brujo - The Milky Way.

This route is located 40 km south of  Cusco city of  near the district of San Jeronimo, it runs by an old and isolated path over Huanacahure mountain ridge , going down a slope of about 750 mtrs, through a valley by a singletrack that runs from the chapel at Ocoruro Pass over 4030 mtrs to the neighborhood of Vallesito about 3200 mtrs near San Jeronimo.
 It is a long singletrack descent, where a good riding tecnique is required, there have been some endurance competitions, full of earth and rocks mostly with excellent scenery no ramps on the route but there are very good natural obstacles like, rock gardens, vertical, switbacks, singletrack and very smooth pedaling sections
The first part of the single track has covered rocky areas of Andean grass that descends right through the rocky ridge of the mountain, and swisbacks several vertical rock gardens to the side of a cliff.
Then route continued by rapid run and pedaling down to the side of the mountain sometimes interrupted by some very technical vertical descents ending on the road very close to the area of ​​the valley.

It is recommended be carefull because of the risk and isolated of the route, protection gear should be considered mandatory on this route.

San Jeronimo Epic Downhill

This amazing adventure starts at San Jeronimo district, located 30 min south to Cusco, 
one of the best Downhill courses of Cusco chossen for the Peruvian downhill national championship.

This epic ride going through an impresive an steep way down full of endless single tracks, bloodchilling curves, big ramps, insane drops and vertiginous descends is one of the most demanding downhill routes around Cusco city.

From San Jeronimo follow the dirty road to Waqoto village about 20 min, you will reach a tranquil place in midle of the forest, that is the perfect scenary for the practice of downhill biking. If you are a serious biker, you will love this place.

this route is recommended only for expert bikers.



Urquillos Sacred Valley Incursion


This fantastic Adventure is a demanding and extreme downhill route from Chinchero high plain 3700 m, to Urquillos village at bottom of sacred  valley over 2800 m,
 this technical ride is one of the most extreme routes that lead to the Sacred valley of the Incas, surrounded by snow capped peaks of Urubamba mountain range,

 You will downhill through remote andean scenary. through a narrow path crossing a deep canyon, next to a big gorge where it is only possible by walking or on our bikes. there are no villages along the way down, only isolated dwellings and the Inca terraces of Colqa. Be prepared to ride some of the best trails in your life in the shadow of the majestic Andes. this route is only recommended for experienced riders because dificulty and  risk.

Pisaq and the Sacred Valley of the Incas

Half day of adventure for all kind riders, Pisaq this trip involve descend from corao pass to the deeps of the Sacred valley of the Incas,  almost a 1000 meters slope by two sections of dirty road and one of paved road. Enjoy this amazing downhill biking crossing the andean hi land riding through the Corao gully down to Pisaq colonial Village, along the way down you can find lots of craft markets, andean farmers comunities and the animal refuge of Cochawasi. once at Pisaq Village you can visit also Pisaq archeological complex and take a walk around the colonial village.
This biking trip is appropriate for all skill cyclists you can choose descend through a long and soft downhill by paved road or run along two sections of single tracks that challenge the most intrepid local riders.

Saqsaywaman and The Four Ruins a Cultural Ride

The best way to know a city is by Cycling, if you are a keen biker looking a mtb trip that let you know more about the Inca culture, and different archeological places as Saqsaywaman this is a great alternative for you. The route descend from Huayllarcocha Village to Cusco Main square through the archeological park of Saqsayhuaman and the four ruins in the suroundings. This is a really nicely biking trip. The starting point is located next to Huayllarcocha village at Tambomachay archeological complex an Inca water sanctuary, then just follow the paved road back to Cusco, about 100 meters ahead is Pukapukara a control point of the Inca trail network, and Huayllarcocha lagoon, to continue you can choose to descend acording to your mtb skills, through a gentle downhill by paved road or take a single track to Laqo archeological complex, then continue by the road to Qenko a Funerary Temple, about 1 km further down is the main archeological complex of Saqsayhuaman with its huge walls and several  estructures, finally you can downhill until main square. All ride takes about half day including the visits to all the archeological complex.
